- Market timing can give early movers an advantage in drone services.
- Delaying action increases competition and lowers early positioning benefits.
- A guided execution plan helps convert opportunity into real client work.
The regulations now are almost
laughable. Like the laws that we have
with the 107, it reminds me of um the
one of the first federal laws around
automobiles. They called them motorized
carriages back in the day. And one of
the first laws around this was to
operate a motorized carriage or an
automobile. It was it took three people.
It was a three-person operation. You had
to have a driver, you know, someone to
actually drive the the car. You had to
have a spotter, someone to look out and
make sure that it was it was safe. And
then you had to have a flagman that
walked 100 paces in front of the car
waving a red flag and ringing a cowbell
to let everybody know there was a car
coming. A football. Think about how
ludicrous that is. Now this was a
federal law. But if you were going to
drive a car, I mean that brings a whole
new meaning to the, you know, shotgun,
right? Like to be in the past. Who wants
to be a football field in front of the
car on the highway with a cowbell? I
mean, it's just it's it's so crazy. But
they didn't know. They were trying to
figure it out. That's kind of where we
are now in a drone space. I mean, like
right now, there's not even any kind of
practical test for flying. Like the the
test is just you just take a written
test. They don't see if you know how to
fly. I mean it it's as crazy as like
getting your CD your commercial truck
driver's license and for hazmat and you
just pass a written test and then you go
out and get in a truck and you know you
hop in the passenger seat and you're
pushing a glove box. You're like how do
you start this thing? You know if you
ever do get the thing started good luck
not killing yourself or you know a bunch
of people when you can actually get the
thing to move or get it in gear. But if
you don't even know the difference
between a driver's seat and a passenger
seat or the start button or the glove
box, you know, then then you're in
trouble. And so I think we're going to
see all that tighten down dramatically.
And again, what's more important for
that is getting in and getting started.
The sooner you do it, you get your
infrastructure in. And just like
anything, you know, we talk about you
suck and then you suck less and you suck
less. And just as you get into anything,
whether it's a you know, you get into
pickle ball or you get into fishing or
you get into scuba diving or anything in
the beginning there's it's like
overwhelming all the stuff you got to do
and then you get really, you know, all
that overwhelm is just like yeah, it's
the basic stuff, you know, it's just so
so secondary. You don't even think about
it. And everyone with drone businesses
now, they're just going they're going to
be known as the drone experts in their
area. And then as things get tougher and
regulations get stricter, then they'll
just they'll just adapt to it and
they'll get everything done. And but
they're going to be the go-to people.
And so people that get started now,
they're going to be the big 800 lb
gorillas in the marketplace 5 years down
the road because they got in now. Just
like McDonald's, I always use that as
everybody, what's the best burger in the
planet? And everybody comes up with all
their homemade or, you know, Steak Shack
or Gordon Ramsay or, you know, In-N-Out
or Five Guys or Waterburger or whatever.
And I always tease everyone. I'm like,
McDonald's
is the best obviously because they're
they sell more hamburgers than anyone
else on planet Earth by not like by a
little, by a lot. Like they're number
one and number two is like way down
there. They're not even close.
And people think to be number one, you
got to be the best.
And it helps, but you don't have to. You
look at McDonald's. Being first to
market gives people such a massive
opportunity and advantage. And people
are just squandering it and letting it
float by just drives me bonkers. So, uh,
the sooner you can get in, the better.
But you got to do it. And the other
thing too is I think the the one thing
that's kind of cr
